Christy is running for the Kennewick City Council because she is passionate about the community. She believes in advocating for those who don’t have a voice – students, retirees, people of every ethnicity, economic background and gender. She appreciates the current city council and the work they have done. However, half of the residents are female yet no women are on the city council. She believes it is time for a woman’s perspective.
Some of Christy’s priorities are: a safe and livable community; gender and ethnic diversity; public/private partnerships; collaboration with other cities; urban growth boundaries to accommodate new schools; Vista Field and Columbia Drive development; CBC Culinary School; new or revitalized Senior Center; public and performing arts.
Christy strives to understand the needs of all citizens: small businesses that are the foundation of our community; young people that represent our future; senior citizens; and families that have made Kennewick their home.
Christy has lived in Kennewick for 27 years and has a great affection for the people who work and play here. Her husband Brad, is a HAMTC worker. She has two adult children, Dustin and Jillian, and four grandchildren, all of whom live in Kennewick.
